Frequently asked questions
Q
How long does it take the battery to recharge?
Depends on the size, but a 500Wh battery takes on average 4–4½ hours to fully charge. Giant’s chargers use quick charge technology and can charge their 500Wh batteries in 2½–3 hours.
Q
How far can you ride on a single charge?
Depends a bit on battery size and brand of motor, but on average in the highest power setting, 10–20 miles. In the lowest power setting, closer to 40–60 miles on a 500Wh battery. For interactive data about Bosch battery distance, click here.
Q
Does the battery recharge itself while you ride?
Unfortunately, no. Will we get it on e-bikes? It may be technology that is used eventually.
Q
How much do e-bikes weigh?
Our bikes, on average, weigh anywhere from 40–65 lbs. The cruiser e-bikes are on the lower end and the full suspension mountain e-bikes and cargo e-bikes are on the higher end.
Q
Does the bike come with a warranty?
We include and support all the manufacturer’s warranties at no extra cost. Usually the motors and batteries are 1 to 3 years depending on the system, whereas most other parts and pieces are 1 year. Frame warranties are 7 years to life depending on the brand.
Q
Where can you ride?
E-bikes are legal on all BLM land and National Parks, and most any public land where regular bikes are allowed. If you are 65 or older, or have a health condition that requires you to ride an e-bike rather than an acoustic pedal bike, you may ride in all public land where regular bikes are allowed.
